Installing and Setting Up Outlook - Android & iOS

On Android (As of Android 13/OxygenOS 13.1):

1.  Navigate to the “Play Store” application on your device.

2.  In the search bar at the top of Play Store’s home screen, type “Outlook” then tap the enter/search icon that appears on your keyboard or tap where it reads “outlook” from the list of suggestions that appears.

3.  Look for the application “Microsoft Outlook” by “Microsoft Corporation”, then tap “Install”

4.  Once completed, tap Open

5.  You will be prompted to enter your email, type your Firstname.Lastname@tamuc.edu into the entry field, then tap “Continue”.

6.  You will then be prompted to Connect Exchange, you will input the following:

  • Email Address: Firstnme.Lastname@tamuc.edu
  • Password: The password you use to sign into your MyLeo
  • Description: This is optional
  • Server: outlook.tamuc.edu
  • Domain: CTIS
  • Username: LastnameFirstname

7.  Afterward, tap the checkmark on the top right to continue.

Once the authentication is successful, you should see an account with the Exchange logo appear along with your emails associated with it. If so, then congratulations! You have successfully added your university email you your Outlook app.

8.  If you receive any authentication errors, please be sure that:

  • Your device’s system software is up to date
  • The Outlook app is up to date
  • Your device is connected to a stable internet source
  • Any VPN or other network monitoring applications or services are disabled

 

 

On iOS (as of iOS 17.1.2):

 

1.  Navigate to the “App Store” application on your device

2.  Tap “Search” on the bottom right of the App Store’s home screen

3.  Type Outlook in the search bar that appears, then tap “Search” on your keyboard or tap where it reads “outlook” from the list of suggestions that appears.

4.  Look for the application “Microsoft Outlook” by “Microsoft Corporation”, then tap “Get” or the Cloud Installation icon.

5.  Once completed, tap “Open”

6.  It will take you to a welcome screen, tap “Add Account”

You may be prompted to add some existing accounts are or have been associated with your device at some point in time or another, you may add them or skip this step.

7.  You will be prompted to enter your work or personal email, type in your firstname.lastname@tamuc.edu email address, then tap “Add Account”

8.  You will be taken to an Exchange page, tap the switch next to “Use Advanced Settings” to show the full list of settings, then input as follows:

  • Email Address: Firstnme.Lastname@tamuc.edu
  • Password: The password you use to sign into your MyLeo
  • Description: This is optional
  • Server: outlook.tamuc.edu
  • Domain: CTIS
  • Username: LastnameFirstname

9.  Then tap “Sign In”

10.  It may prompt asking if you would like to add another account, you may do so or skip this step by tapping “Maybe Later”

11.  Then you will be prompted to enable notifications. Once you have made your decision, you will have successfully added your account and be immediately taken to your mailbox.

 

 

 

 

Removing Accounts

It is usually recommended to remove and re-add your accounts after a password reset, among other reasons.

On Android:

 

1.  Open your Outlook app and tap the account icon on the top left next to “Inbox”.

2.  Tap the gear icon on the bottom left, at the end of the list of your accounts.

3.  Select your Exchange account

4.  Tap “Remove Account”

5.  Tap “Remove from all mobile devices” then tap “Remove”

On iOS:

 

1.  Open your Outlook app and tap the account icon on the top left next to “Inbox”.

Tap the gear icon on the bottom left, at the end of the list of your accounts.

2.  Select your Exchange account
